The Hi-MO 5 Ice-Shield is a specialized, ultra-durable version of the flagship Hi-MO 5 series, specifically engineered to safeguard solar investments in regions prone to extreme weather like severe hail and high-velocity windstorms. While maintaining the core high-efficiency benefits of the standard series, the Ice-Shield features a revolutionary 3.2mm integrated top layer of tempered, toughened safety glass—the same technology used to protect high-end smartphone screens—allowing it to withstand hailstones up to 55mm (roughly the size of a billiard ball) striking at speeds of over 33 meters per second. This design provides approximately 17 times the impact energy resistance of the industry-standard IEC requirements, ensuring that even under massive bombardment, the cells remain free of micro-cracks and power degradation.
