Shed Mounting Structures

Shed Mounting Structures (also known as Tin Roof or Metal Sheet Mounts) are specialized solutions designed for residential garages, industrial warehouses, and commercial sheds. Unlike RCC roofs, these structures must work with the existing pitch and profile of the metal sheets without compromising the roof’s waterproofing.

Description

Shed Mounting Structures are lightweight, low-profile racking systems specifically designed for corrugated, trapezoidal, or sandwich panel metal roofs. Unlike RCC or ground mounts, shed structures prioritize weight distribution and waterproofing, as they attach directly to the thin metal skin or the underlying purlins. The most common solution is the Mini Rail system, which uses short (250mm–400mm) aluminum segments screwed directly into the “crowns” or ribs of the metal sheet, significantly reducing material costs and installation time compared to full-length rails. For roofs requiring more structural redundancy, L-Feet and Rail systems are used, where L-shaped brackets are bolted into the roof’s support beams (purlins) to provide a rigid foundation that can handle higher wind loads. To prevent leaks, these systems utilize EPDM rubber gaskets and high-quality self-drilling screws with bonded washers, ensuring a watertight seal. Whether utilizing a railless approach for aesthetics or a tilted triangle frame to optimize the angle on a flat shed, these structures are typically made from Anodized Aluminum (6005-T5) and Stainless Steel (SS304) to ensure they remain rust-free for the 25-year lifespan of the solar panels.
